Handstand Movement Beginners Workshop, Halifax

At the Handstand Movement we are all about helping everyone to learn how to do as handstand regardless of your skill level and ability.

In this workshop, you will learn all the fundamentals knowledge you need to know to get upside down. You will learn the importance of protecting and strengthening your wrists, how to use your fingers to assist balance, shoulder positioning, the correct alignment, how to kick up and most importantly, how to fall.

Upon purchase, we would love you to give us an understanding of your current handstand level – the easiest way for us to gauge this is for you to provide your Instagram tag. This enables us tailor the workshop appropriately and provide you with the best possible workshop experience! All exercises can be progressed or regressed accordingly.

Please note this is an adults workshops so only over 18s can attend.

Handstand Addict and Founder of THM. Natalie has been helping people get upside down since she started the movement back in April 2020 and started coaching in person in May 2021. Since then she has had lots of experience with a variety of people at different stages of their handstand journey and helped them all learn the fundaments of a handstand and along with building their strength and confidence to perform one. Natalie is a self-declared handstand addict so be prepared for lots of enthusiasm! Due to Natalie to being the only coach on this workshop spaces are limited to ensure everyone benefits from the workshop.

She started her fitness journey at a dance school from the age of 3 up until the age of 18. Became a club runner in her early 20’s running long distance races. After a serious back injury 15 years ago, she became focused on rebuilding strength and endurance through lifting weights. She retrained as a personal trainer 5 years ago. Fell in love (and a bit obsessed) with handstands during lockdown. Julie loves helping others gain more confidence with their handstands and encourages everyone to get involved, including her own children and friends….

The workshop will begin by learning how to prepare your body to handstand. This includes a thorough warm up with particular focus on the wrists, shoulders and full body conditioning. You will learn how to align your body correctly and find your balance, all through a variety of drills specially designed to target different aspects of the handstand.
